KENNYWOOD ADDING NEW INTERACTIVE HAUNTED MANSION

Kennywood Amusement Park located in Pittsburgh, PA has announced they're adding a new dark ride to the park for 2008. The ride will be called 'Ghostwood Estate' and will feature a Disney style haunted mansion but with interactive animations, and scoring system.

"Ghostwood Estate is clearly an indication of Kennywood's commitment to dark rides," explains Jerome Gibas, Kennywood General Manager. "It combines the newest technology available - a trackless conveyance system with cars programmed and monitored by a computer and includes over 200 interactive targets and numerous CGIs (Computer Generated Images)."

Guests will be armed with blasters which will target ghosts and goblins scoring points for riders, while they complete against other riders. This dark ride replaces the old 'Haunted Mill' ride which was installed over 25 years ago. ETF systems of Holland will provide a wireless ride system, while Halloween Productions, Inc. of St. Louis will build the sets, special effects, and animation.
